Fast Fingers Find Fortune

Sometimes it pays to be text-savvy – literally.  Kate Moore, a fifteen-year-old in Iowa, was just awarded the grand prize of $50,000 at the L.G. National Texting Championship. In addition to being judged on speed and accuracy, contestants were also tested on texting acronyms and their ability to navigate an obstacle course while texting.

I originally wondered where a teen would spend all that money, but I would venture to guess it’s going towards her monthly cell phone bill – she typically sends 500 texts a day!

Take this to mean that texting promotions are a great choice for clients, and not only with teens.  Whether you’re working with a transit system, utility company or resort, be prepared to get your feet wet and your fingers ready.

I participated in one of LG’s text promotion during a MTV commercial break and I called myself participating. By time the commercial was over I realized I had only “texted” three words so far, all of which had spelling errors.
