Unexpected Visitor at Kidd PR

Those who have been to Kidd’s Public Relations office on Old St. Augustine, might know there are teams of critters in the neighboring woods. No, not the interns, but squirrels and birds that on occasion venture into human territory. While some staff members are used to these encounters, others experienced their first squirrel incident today. Everyone at Kidd PR was sitting at their desks working quietly when from the back of the building, in a loud (and unfamiliar tone), a mix of excitement and concern erupted: “Uuuh…..guys!  WE HAVE A PROBLEM.” As they walked into the studio area, there was Sarah standing – her face and eyes as big as a full moon. “There is a squirrel in the building,” she said emphatically. Inside the studio the squirrel was darting back and forth attempting to escape by jumping outside (not realizing of course there was a window inhibiting the courageous exodus). Well, happy ending, the dizzy friend was let outside and all that remains are smudged windows.

So, any excitement in your day?

This is a great story. It’s clear that the score is squirrel-1, humans-0. You should have eaten it. Squirrel is one of the most delicious meats, especially with provolone and a little horseradish. If you were too squemish to eat him you might have considered hiring him as a finance assistant. Squirrels are great at multiplication and standard deviation. Plus they’re great savers and would have probably trimmed expenses.

Also I have a problem with a woodpecker that thinks our building is a tree. He pecks at it all day long. He pecks so hard on the windows they nearly shatter. Sometimes he stops and hovers and stares at me through the window. It’s clear that he thinks I am a big giant worm and he is determined to eat me. Do you know what it feels like to be woodpecker food? I do and it’s really unflattering. Please offer advice….
