Ecofont is a new typeface with 20% less mass than its model, Bitstream Vera. Riddled with small holes, the font can save on printing costs whilst remaining legible in small sizes. Aimed at the home inkjet market, it has been criticised by typographic experts. Still, it is free to download and the designers contend that a 5000-employee company could save $125,000 in ink each year.
